Today there was a partial solar eclipse. And it was a beautiful fall day, so I decided to go out into the forest, find a nice open area somewhere, and try to photograph the eclipse. Sadly I don’t have the right filter for this, but somehow I managed to get some pretty decent shots anyway.
First, I put my camera settings on the lowest ISO (100), the highest f-stop (f/32), and the shortest exposure time (1/4000th sec). Then, very unprofessionally but quite effectively, I simply held my sunglasses in front of the camera lens. And voila, a pretty nice result!
After waiting until the eclipse maximum (which still covered only a small part of the sun), I walked a bit further through the forest, enjoying the nice fall colors.
