August Full Moon

Posted on August 22, 2021February 14, 2023

Description

Last night I watched a spectacular full moon rise over Vienna, from a nice viewpoint on a hill overlooking the city. Due to the layer of clouds above the horizon the moon only appeared once it had already risen a bit, but it made for amazing images and colors. It was certainly worth the many mosquito bites I had to endure!

Below the images is a fitting performance of Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” by pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, who actually studied music in Vienna.
