Whim of the Week – 32

The Dog’s Bollocks

I’m in Groningen, The Netherlands, for a week for a little project at the university. One evening while walking around in the city center to look for a place to eat, I ran into this lovely pub. With such a name, I simply had to try it. To my surprise, they actually have very tasty veggie burgers (and many tasty Belgian beers as well).

And to continue with the theme of dubious shop names, here is a used-books store I walked by after my beer ‘n burger. Even though the shop name clearly refers to the Egyptian goddess, with it being written in all capitals I’m sure this shop is on someone’s watch list…

whimsical (adj.): Determined by chance or impulse or whim rather than by necessity or reason. Playful or fanciful, especially in a humorous way. (Source: The Free Dictionary)

In an effort to continue looking at the bright side of life in these worrying times, the Whim of the Week series features sometimes funny or unusual, sometimes beautiful or inspiring, but generally whimsical observations I happen to capture on camera during my wanderings around the world.
