Ruta de Pedra en Sec, Spain (Day 4)

23 March 2017

From Esporles via Valldemossa all the way to Deia, by far the longest and hardest day of the entire hike! But also one of the most spectacular.

Leaving Esporles behind.

Some old stone ovens.

Then more climbing...

And down to Valldemossa, where I had a well-deserved rest and lunch from the local supermarket.

Then up the hill on the other side.

A last look back at Valldemossa.

After a long climb, the trail followed this spectacular ridge.

That's the city of Palma and the Badia de Palma in the distance!

A first view of Puig Major, the highest mountain in Mallorca.

Finally, a long and very steep way down to Deia. This was a tough hike, especially with a full pack.

Sunset against the mountains above Deia.

And the refugi Can Boi, where I spent the night.

The hike and elevation profile.
