Zandvoort aan Zee, The Netherlands

9 March 2018

I was supposed to be at a meeting, but due to a major power outage that affected a large part of the center of Amsterdam, the meeting was canceled. So instead I took a train to Zandvoort aan Zee and walked along the beach for several hours.

Once I got a bit away from the main beach area, I was almost alone.

There were lots of pretty shells on the beach.

Then a surprise encounter. Several deer were feeding on top of the sand dunes. Wonderful!

Then further along the beach, with lots of birds.

Some oyster catchers.

And stints ("strandlopertjes" in Dutch).

Sea gulls having a meal.

A last look at the sand dunes.

And the sea.
