Masada, Israel

18 November 2017

With the cable car up to the top of Masada, at the Dead Sea, to have a look around at the ruins and the views, then a walk down the mountain along the "snake path".

Some views on the way to the Dead Sea.

It was a rather hazy day, but you can vaguely see the Dead Sea.

Then up at Masada, with another view towards the Dead Sea, and barely visible in the background the mountains on the other side in Jordan.

Beautiful erosion patterns...

Some original floor mosaics.

Then the hike down. You can see the "snake path" winding down the slope.

A look back up at Masada.

A panoramic view from nearby (scroll right to see it all...).

The hike and elevation profile.
