Orebic, Croatia

17-18 May 2015

A lovely and quiet (this time of the year) town almost at the end of the Peljesac peninsula. Went for a nice long stroll along the waterfront on the first day. The sound of the waves on the pebble beach, a nice sea breeze, and hardly any people. What a perfect place to relax!

A view of Mt. Ilija towering above the town.

The next day I hiked up Mt. Ilija, from sea level to 961m at the top. A long hike, but incredibly beautiful!
A view of the old walled town of Korcula, just over on the nearby island with the same name.

This guy was trying to make it to the top as well, but I beat him to it...

Lovely spring flowers.

Another local resident, this one less active.

Getting close to the summit.

Wonderful views from the top (even though it was a bit hazy).

The trail down was on the steep side of the mountain, with more spectacular vistas.

A last look back up.

Two panoramas from the top.
