Cerro San Cristobal, Santiago, Chile

2 December 2015

Took an afternoon off from the work I am supposed to do in Santiago, and went for a walk up Cerro San Cristobal, a big hill within the city. With a climb of about 300m up on a hot day still a little bit of a challenge! But the nice thing this time of year is that many trees, flowers, and even cacti are blooming.

In Rio de Janeiro they have Jesus on top of a big hill, in Santiago they have his mom overlooking the city.

A view over part of the city from the top of the hill, with the Andes mountains barely visible in the distance due to the almost permanent smog hanging over this city.

A local resident of the city park.

A panoramic view over the city, with the mountains disappearing into the smog...

The walk and elevation profile.
